Google brings Shopping Ads to the image search. Users will now be able to advertise ads that promote “similar products” as the pictures you are looking for and lead to the online shop with one click.
So far, the Google search was one of the rare regions in the Google universe, where users did not find ads. This is now changing with the introduction of shopping ads in the search for images, Google shares with his blog. From now on, users are offered “similar products” in the image search, as can be seen in the pictures in the search results.

(Source: Google Blog) If a user searches for “branded sunglasses” and clicks on the picture search in the picture search, presents the detail side similar sunglasses as in the picture including price. If the online shopper then clicks on the details page, he will immediately be forwarded to the webshop for the product. Currently, however, the new shopping ads are only displayed in the mobile image search as well as in the Google search app.
Potential for online retailers
The new ad format is interesting for web shop operators, as they have another way to attract online shoppers to their products. Whoever makes it as a dealer to place his articles in the image search, increases the probability of a purchase conclusion by a multiple.
